Call for Special Election for District Attorney, Western

CALL FOR SPECIAL ELECTION FOR DISTRICT ATTORNEY, WESTERN JUDICIAL CIRCUIT Notice is hereby given that a Special Election shall be held in Clarke and Oconee Counties on November 3, 2020 to fill the office of District Attorney, Western Judicial Circuit. A run-off, if needed, shall be held on December 1, 2020. Qualifying for the Special Election shall be held in the Elections Division of the Office of Secretary of State, 2 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SE, West Tower Suite 802, Atlanta, Georgia 30334. The dates and hours of qualifying will be Wednesday, August 12, 2020 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2020 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m., and Friday, August 14, 2020 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m. The qualifying fee shall be $3,674.20. Monday, October 5, 2020 is the last day to register to vote for all persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to vote in the Special Election. Advance in-person absentee voting will begin on Monday, October 12, 2020. Election Day polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
