Federal Funds Available for Atlanta/Fulton/Dekalb Under the Emergency

FEDERAL FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR ATLANTA/FULTON/DEKALB UNDER THE EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER NATIONAL BOARD PROGRAM Phase 38 of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, a division of The Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program runs through May 31, 2021. It is confirmed that DeKalb and Fulton counties and the city of Atlanta have been awarded funds. Funds will be awarded to local service organizations that provide emergency food and shelter programs. Distribution of funds for the aforementioned jurisdiction will be determined by a local board consisting of representatives invited from, but not limited to, the following agencies: American Red Cross, Atlanta Jewish Federation, Catholic Charities, Regional Council of Churches, City of Atlanta, DeKalb County, Fulton County and United Way of Greater Atlanta. The local board has the responsibility of recommending agencies to receive funds during Phase 38. Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local organizations chosen to receive funds must meet the following criteria: 1) have non-profit status, 2) maintain an accounting system, 3) practice non-discrimination, 4) demonstrate the capacity to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs and 5) have a voluntary board (if the agency is a private voluntary organization).
