70th Anniversary Millie & Jimmie Mabry Millie

70th Anniversary Millie & Jimmie Mabry Millie and Jimmie Mabry are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on November 10th, 2020! They were married in 1950 in the original chapel of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Atlanta and spent their wedding night at The Colonnade Hotel on Cheshire Bridge Road. Millie and Jimmie were both born in Atlanta, twenty days apart to be exact, and met each other in their early teens at a roller skating rink. Soon after meeting, they discovered they had several mutual friends, so that is where their journey together began. After dating for several years, they married when they were just 18 years old, and have been together ever since. Jimmie joined the Navy and served 4 years during the Korean War, while Millie continued working. Then when Jimmie came back from overseas and was stationed in Green Cove Springs, FL, Norfolk, VA, etc. Millie quit her job and followed him throughout his Naval base assignments. They built their home soon after Jimmie was discharged, and began their family a few years later. They had two daughters, Tracey (deceased) and Cathy (husband Marc), and made it their life's mission to provide a home full of love and support to their daughters, their friends, their neighbors and their community. Millie and Jimmie have also been blessed with two grandchildren, Katie Farish (husband Brandon), and Alex Vanover whom they are extremely proud of. Congratulations "Lollipop" and "Jimbo" on this amazing accomplishment!! We love you, Marc, Cathy, Katie, Brandon and Alex
