Notice of Request for Class 3 Permit Modification Permit No. HW-036 (S&D)-2, EPA ID GAD006924872 This notice is being provided pursuant to 40 CFR 270.42(b)(2) and 40 CFR 270.42(e)(4), to notify interested persons that Delta Air Lines, Inc. has submitted a request to the Environmental Protection Division (EPD) of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for approval of a Class 3 Permit Modification and reissuance of Temporary Authorization for Hazardous Waste Facility Permit No. HW-036 (S&D)-2, EPA ID GAD006924872. This notice is being published and provided to persons on the facility mailing list maintained by the Director of the EPD and appropriate units of state and local government in accordance with applicable regulations. On May 20, 2022, EPD approved a Temporary Authorization Request from Delta, which allowed Delta to adjust the operation of certain groundwater recovery wells subject to the above-referenced permit for a period of up to 180 days to perform a tracer test to evaluate groundwater conditions in the vicinity of a former regulated unit. Delta has now submitted a request to EPD to modify the above-referenced permit to allow EPD to adjust the operation of these groundwater recovery wells, and has requested that EPD reissue the previous Temporary Authorization as a Class 3 modification for an additional 180 days in connection with that permit modification request. In accordance with applicable regulations, the public has sixty (60) days to provide comments to EPD on Delta's request for a Class 3 Permit Modification for the above-referenced permit. In addition, a public meeting regarding Delta's request will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams on December 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. EST.
