Public Hearing Notice for the Fulton County 2024-2044
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE FOR THE FULTON COUNTY 2024-2044 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE Fulton County, in coordination with the County's Consultant, GMC, is kicking off the process of updating the County's Comprehensive Plan. Per the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Planning Act, O.C.G.A. 50-8-1, et seq, the DCA has the authority to establish standards and procedures for appropriate and timely regional planning in Georgia. The Comprehensive Plan is a planning document which serves to establish the vision and goals for how the County should grow, usually over a twenty-year period. It will provide guidance on future policies, projects, and actions for various aspects of the County, including, but not limited to, land use, economic development, transportation, and housing. The process to develop the Comprehensive Plan Update is expected to take a total of 6 months with final adoption of the plan occurring no later than March 2025. The purpose of this public hearing is to provide an overview on the process that will be used to develop the plan, inform the public about opportunities to participate in the development of the plan, and to obtain input on the proposed planning process. The public hearing will be held September 24, 2024 at the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum and Conference Center, 3900 Aviation Circle NW, Atlanta, GA 30336, at 5:00 PM. The public is encouraged to attend and participate in this public hearing.
