Public Notice: The Board of Regents
PUBLIC NOTICE: The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, as Owner, by and on behalf of Georgia State University (GSU), are proposing to demolish the existing Sparks Hall a four-story educational building, located 33 Gilmer Street, Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, with intent to integrate the existing campus greenway into a central campus quad that crosses Gilmer Street and connects to Hurt Park (33° 45' 12.44" N, 84° 23' 9.55" W). Since the Georgia Historic Preservation Division (HPD) determined the site building, GNAHRGIS 244030 Sparks Hall, the associated Blue Key National Honor Fraternity Flagpole (GNAHRGIS 244031) and the Shining Light Award gas lamp (GNAHRGIS 244029) are eligible for listing in the Georgia National Register of Historic Places (G/NRHP), an Environmental Effects Report (EER) has been prepared and mitigation measures are being taken to offset the impact to historic properties. Interested persons may review the EER by requesting a copy at the Atlanta Central Library located at One Margaret Mitchell Square, Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia 30303.
